Bernie Sanders is on fire, making his last ‘go round’ in life. Man on fire!
To be driven by father time himself is wild to watch, and Bernie is in his element. A proletarian consciousness is being shaped in the USA and history has left it to US/a too help frame the new revolutionary vision and give it its luster. New juncture happening.
Trayvon Martin was murdered Feb. 2012. Juncture happened. Michael Brown and Ferguson happened. New Juncture. The Women’s March the day after Trump was sworn in to office. Juncture happened.
This is the season of last gasp. Biden, Bloomberg, Trump and Bernie. Last chance to shape history. New juncture is now. Bernie has done more to shatter “Red Baiting” since revolutionaries ran “Vote Communist” campaigns in Detroit in the 1970s.
The old junctures inform us. With Dr. King and brother Malcolm a point was reached where the demand for a place in society and to desegregate was captured in one word “Freedom.” Socialism is one word that is coming to mean the same things as Freedom meant in the early 1960s.
Then “Freedom Now.” There was “Free by 63.’” The sound of the 1950s industrial trade union movement was still booming in the background avoiding the issue of freedom.
Then the shift hit page and juncture happened.
August 1965 Watts Los City of Angels found Negroes in bitterness. The crowd was angry. One speaker after another mounted the podium in protest, preaching take it slow and don’t get mad. Somebody called for the revolutionary investigation of the jails.
It was Uncle Tomism at an exceptionally distasteful level.
Sonny was pissed and had a pistol.
He looked at the 3 police officers who were trying to stay out of the way and looked back at the new speaker. Sonny mumbled something and looked at the police real hard, almost too long. He looked at the speaker and somebody hear him say, “this is bullshit and I ain’t hearing no more” and shot the speaker in the leg.
Sonny shot the mis/leader off the stage and into history. The misleaders were rejected.
Watts, 1965.
The groveling and genuflecting wasn’t happening with Sonny. He wasn’t feeling that.
I was told it was Dick Gregory shot off the stage but cannot validate it. Gregory drank big whiskey and hung out and changed his life, fasting for peace and being a powerful champion for emancipation. Dick gave you that and spit contempt at the enemy with his last breath.
This new stage of Watts, Sonny and Dick popped in Detroit July 1967. Then Newark.
The 1960s ended with the black workers insurgency in Detroit driving the formation of all kinds of organizations. Dominated by the vision and ideas of Marx. Coleman Young Jr was elected Mayor and Marxists were elected in the Courts, as judge and City Council. The elections allowed an incredible amount of organizing and educating to be done. Through the press we were able to have a coherent voice.
1970s opened with the ideology of the black proletariat penetrating more layers of the working class.
This another new juncture and Bernie is on fire.
