Bribery:
As a feature of colonialism during the epoch of the industrial revolution, bribery granted a structured material benefit to the imperial peoples in all sector of social life and various classes. These material benefits were denied to members of the same class, who were colonized peoples, national minorities and minorities, in order to maintain imperial loyalty to the capitalist system and its political causes. Bribery of the working class refers to the broad social phenomena of colonial enslavement built into the architecture of the system. Architecture, with its spoken and unspoken legality regulated groups of peoples, based on their colonial status, to second class citizens throughout world imperialism.
Wall Street financial capitalism developed into Yankee imperialism through financing the American Civil War. With the defeat of Reconstruction Yankee imperialism entered into political alignment with Southern reaction to impose an American form of fascism on the black belt South. Yankee imperialism’s political unity with fascism in the southern plantation zone of the South, has been the foundation for control of the USA Empire state. The South controlled the country and Wall Street controlled the South. Today, that unity is being shattered.
Yankee imperialism constructed a system of bribery to win the loyalty of Northern workers for the imperialist exploitation and wars to expand Empire. White chauvinism and national chauvinism was the form the material bribery took to the Anglo American people.
The bribe, reinforced by the bourgeois ideology of race, meant the workers saw the resolution of their struggled for reform purely within the framework of the colonial/Empire capitalist productive relations. The USA working class, has at all times supported their own bourgeoisie in times of crisis, colonial conquest and imperial wars. During the Spanish American War of 1898, the bribed sectors and their leaders in unions and political parties organized these workers into supporting the imperialist takeover of Puerto Rico, Cuba, Guam and the Philippines. And exerted influence on the rest of their class to pull them behind the policies and interests of the rulers.
The system of bribery was paid form by the super-profits carved out of the backs of the colonial masses. Fascist rule of the colonial and neo-colonial regimes was guaranteed by puppets installed by the imperialist countries.
An American working class formed and split by such bribery could not unite, despite the best efforts of activists, revolutionaries and Marxists. Workers in the North were granted a material bribe compared to those in the South, whites paid more over black and browns.
The tension between the .25 cent laborer and the nickel laborer is due to the understanding by the higher paid workers that his higher wage was the result of the nickel workers lower wage. Bribery magnify this tension.
Within the Northern imperial heartland native-born workers were bribed with high skilled industrial jobs, and this served to block unity with newly arrived European immigrant laborers, specifically the Slavic workers confined to unskilled work.
During the Great Depression, bribery coupled with white supremacist ideology ensured that the struggle for industrial unions led to the 1935 Wagner Act, which achieved union rights for factory workers, but not for the field work where African Americans and Mexicans were concentrated. Bribery also ensured that the Slavic workers would remain at the bottom of the industrial social order, implementing the status of the Slav in Europe. It is in the relationship between European immigrants we witness the shallowness of the concept “white skin privilege.” The relationship between the English and the Irish is one of colonialism and bribery, rather than white privilege or the narrow concept of “privilege.”
Wall Street bribery ensured that the entire industrial trade union movement would abandon any semblance of working class unity by abandoning the need to organize the unorganized in the colonial South and Southwest regions of the USA.
Even as American workers fought European and Japanese fascism during World War II, bribery and divisive ideology of race allowed fascism to continue to rule America’s South, ultimately provoking the heroic Civil Rights struggles.
Bribery was expressed as the black workers of the North made a higher wage than the white workers of the South, who did the same or similar work. Hence, the colonial workers of the South fled North to the heart of Empire to escape fascistic laws, poverty wages and the chain gangs aimed at limiting that migration. In the North these colonial workers became “national-minority,” meaning they migrated from a direct colony to the bribery of the imperial heartland. The world headquarters of world-finance capital. This relationship that is bribery began to unravel in the 1970s.
The 1990s extension of advanced productive forces into the colonies and the digital revolution and robotics destroyed the foundation of the old system of bribery and brought the colonial curve of history development to an end. The world has been even up as never before and the period of bribery and reform is over. Capital no longer needed to bring the peoples of the world into the political decision-making process. Empire today rules increasingly through fascism.
Robotics destroys jobs and pushes the Anglo America down to the level of the former colonies and brings the proletariat to revolution.
